About
In 2003, two Indian gentlemen, Mr. Viraj Panchal and Mr. Dilip Bhambhwani, who had been living in Sri Lanka for some time and were starved of authentic Indian cuisine, met their longtime friend Mr. Sukhvinder Singh during a family trip to India. In a moment of pure passion and shared vision, the three decided to open The Mango Tree. Within a few exhilarating months—and after countless tastings—The Mango Tree came to life. The name holds special meaning, inspired by an actual mango tree at the restaurant premises. The Mango Tree was, is, and always will be a much-needed addition to Sri Lanka’s restaurant scene. Designed as an Indian resto-bar that blends classic and contemporary styles, this elegant diner stays true to its name—bringing the essence of Indian cuisine in a fresh, refined, and globally inspired setting.
